Once your tenderID kit arrives in the mail, you'll need to activate it. Here's how.
What does "activation" mean?
Activation links your physical tenderID card and decal to your tendercare account so that when the QR code is scanned, the right information appears. Until it's activated, the QR code won't display anything.
How to activate your tenderID
Option 1: From the tendercare app
Open the tendercare app and go to the relevant vault.
Tap tenderID.
Tap Activate.
Follow the prompts to confirm your information and complete activation.
Option 2: By scanning the QR code
In some cases, scanning the QR code before activation may prompt you to complete activation through the app. If you try this and reach a blank page instead, use Option 1 above.

I have multiple tenderID cards or decals linked to the same loved one
Each tenderID card or decal has its own unique QR code, but multiple QR codes can be linked to the same profile. If you've added an extra card or decal, you'll need to activate each one separately. Check the tenderID section of your vault to see which QR codes are active.
After activation
Once activated, test the QR code by scanning it with a friend's phone. Make sure the correct information appears. Also make sure your emergency contacts' phone numbers are correct, since they'll receive a text when the code is scanned.
For security, the page that opens when a QR code is scanned expires after 24 hours. Each new scan generates a fresh, time-limited link.
