Connecting Medicare to tendercare automatically imports your loved one's medications, conditions, and doctors into their vault. No more typing it all by hand.
What gets imported
When Medicare is connected, tendercare pulls in:
Medications
Conditions
Doctors and other healthcare contacts
The information is added directly to your loved one's vault.
App only
Medicare connection is only available in the tendercare app (iPhone or Android), not on the web. If you tap the Medicare import button on the web, tendercare will either open the app for you (on a phone) or show a QR code to download the app (on a computer).
What you'll need
To connect Medicare, you'll need:
Medicare.gov login credentials for your loved one (or your own, if you're the one enrolled)
The Medicare number, found on your loved one's Medicare card. If you don't have login details yet, you can create an account at Medicare.gov or call 1-800-MEDICARE.
How it works
For security, Medicare requires the enrolled person to authorize access themselves. Here's the flow:
Open the tendercare app and tap Connect to Medicare from the home screen.
tendercare sends a Medicare login link to whoever is enrolled (you or your loved one).
That person opens the link, logs into their Medicare.gov account, and approves access. The Medicare sign-in may open as a browser window on top of the tendercare app — that's expected.
Once authorized, tendercare imports their medications, conditions, and doctors into the vault.
You'll get a notification when the import is complete.
What if my loved one can't log into Medicare on their own?
If your loved one can't manage the login themselves, you can sit with them during the authorization step, or use Medicare's online tools to help set up access. You may also want to look into being their authorized representative through Medicare. Visit Medicare.gov or call 1-800-MEDICARE for guidance.
Is my Medicare login stored by tendercare?
No. The Medicare authorization happens directly with Medicare.gov. tendercare receives only the authorized health information, not your login credentials.
Troubleshooting
The link expired. Medicare login links are time-limited for security. Request a new one from the app.
The login failed. Double-check that you're using the Medicare.gov credentials, not those of another health portal.
The import is taking a long time. Imports usually finish within a few minutes, but can take longer if there's a lot of history. You'll get a notification when it's done.
