You're always in control of your account and data. Here's how deleting your account works.
How to delete your account
Open Account Settings in the app or on the web.
Look for Delete Account.
Follow the confirmation prompts.
If you can't find the option or want help, email us at [email protected] and we'll take care of it.
What happens when you delete your account
Your account is permanently closed.
Vaults you own and the documents in them are deleted.
Any tenderIDs linked to vaults you own stop displaying information when scanned.
You're removed from any vaults that others shared with you. (Their vaults aren't affected.)
Deletion is permanent. Once your account and data are deleted, they can't be recovered. If you might come back, consider just logging out instead.
What about vaults other people depend on?
If family members share a vault you own, deleting your account deletes that vault for everyone. Before deleting, talk to your family. They may want to export important documents or set up their own vault first.
How long does deletion take?
Account deletion requests are processed promptly. Residual copies in encrypted backups are purged on a scheduled cycle in line with our data retention policies.
