Setting up your tenderID: what to include

What to include on your tenderID: medications, allergies, conditions, emergency contacts, and key documents.

What you put on the tenderID can make a real difference in an emergency. Here's how to think about it.

The core information to include

Medications.
List all current medications with dosage and frequency. Pay special attention to medications that could cause dangerous interactions or that require specific emergency protocols (blood thinners, insulin, heart medications, seizure medications). Use Autofill from Image to capture details from prescription bottles or over-the-counter packaging.

Allergies.
Include all known allergies, especially drug allergies. List the allergen and the type of reaction if you know it (e.g., "Penicillin: anaphylaxis").

Medical conditions.
List conditions that a first responder needs to know about. Focus on conditions that affect emergency treatment (diabetes, heart conditions, dementia, epilepsy, pacemaker, etc.).

Emergency contacts.
Add at least two people. These contacts will receive an automatic text message when the QR code is scanned. Include their name, relationship, and phone number.

Optional additions

  • Primary care doctor name and number

  • Blood type

  • Hospital preference (if they have one)

  • DNR or other important documents. You can make a DNR, advance directive, or other key paperwork from your vault visible on the tenderID scan page.

  • Languages spoken if English isn't their primary language

How to update the tenderID information

Log in to tendercare and open the relevant vault. Update the medications, allergies, or conditions in the vault and your tenderID information updates automatically. The QR code stays the same. The information behind it just gets refreshed.

Important: Keep this information up to date, especially when medications change.

What about privacy?

You choose exactly what appears on the tenderID scan page. You don't have to include anything you're not comfortable sharing. See Controlling your tenderID privacy settings for more.
